Job summary

London Hire Limited is seeking a Vehicle Valeter for a part-time, 20-hour week role based in Erith. The job involves preparing vehicles for London hire, inspecting new vehicles on site, and performing general fleet duties with a focus on cleanliness, proper documentation, and safety checks.

Key tasks include ensuring correct safety equipment is installed, maintaining the daily diary, and liaising with contractors to uphold site safety rules.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for delivery to customers, ensuring documentation is complete and vehicles are clean.
• Check new vehicles against the New Vehicle Acceptance Sheet and documentation.
• Inspect vehicles returned from hire and record all details.
• Maintain daily diary records and ensure vehicles are ready for customer collection on time.
• Carry out minor repairs and visual checks including fluid levels and tyres.
• Clean vehicles prior to delivery as required.
• Liaise with visiting contractors and ensure site safety rules are observed.
• Arrange for defective equipment to be repaired.
• Ensure equipment is used and maintained according to Health and Safety rules.
