Job Opportunity - Part Time VAT Specialist - Fully Remote

One of my local Government clients is currently seeking an Interim VAT Specialist to join their team.

VAT Accountant

Contract Length: 6 Months

Pay Rate: DOE

IR35: To be confirmed

Days: Ideally X2-3 p/w

Start Date: Mid July

Fully Remote

You Will Be Responsible For

• Monthly VAT returns
• Compliance testing
• Reviewing VAT reports from the system and flagging inconsistencies/improvements
• Act as the first point of contact for any VAT advice
• Partial exemptions
• Options to tax
• VAT project work, liaising with different services and advising on VAT associated with this

This role is strategic, requiring a VAT Accountant who can consult and handle complex queries. While being hands-on is necessary, a Finance Admin will assist with more junior VAT tasks.

Successful Candidates Will

• Have previous experience as a VAT Accountant performing these tasks within a local authority setting - Essential
• Candidates do not need to be fully qualified accountants; part-qualified or experienced candidates are also considered
