A mainstream primary school in Bath with a dedicated SEN resource base is seeking a part-time teaching assistant – SEN for 2 to 3 days per week. The resource base supports children with autism and other complex needs.
As a Part-Time Teaching Assistant - SEN , you will work closely with children in the resource base and mainstream classes, supporting them alongside teachers, therapists, and SEN staff.
Part-Time Teaching Assistant - SEN Key responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children with SEN
* Help create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
* Implement interventions for communication, social interaction, and sensory needs
* Assist with behaviour management, emotional regulation, and personal care
Ideal candidate for Part-Time Teaching Assistant - SEN :
* Previous experience as a teaching assistant – SEN
* Passionate about supporting children with autism and SEN
* Resilient, patient, and proactive in managing challenging behaviours
* Must have an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
