Part-Time Teaching Assistant - SEN

Location: Bath
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £85 - £90 per day
Hours: 2 to 3 days per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm)
Duration: Until the end of the academic year

Are you looking for a role as a teaching assistant with a passion for supporting children with autism and additional learning needs in Bath?

A mainstream primary school in Bath with a dedicated SEN resource base is seeking a part-time teaching assistant – SEN for 2 to 3 days per week. The resource base supports children with autism and other complex needs.

As a Part-Time Teaching Assistant - SEN, you will work closely with children in the resource base and mainstream classes, supporting them alongside teachers, therapists, and SEN staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children with SEN
  2. Help create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
  3. Implement interventions for communication, social interaction, and sensory needs
  4. Assist with behaviour management, emotional regulation, and personal care
Ideal Candidate:
  1. Previous experience as a teaching assistant – SEN
  2. Passionate about supporting children with autism and SEN
  3. Resilient, patient, and proactive in managing challenging behaviours
  4. Must have an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
