Job Title: Part-Time Teaching Assistant

Location: Eastbourne
Salary: GBP14 - GBP16.5 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Part-time, Long-term

Looking for a part-time role where you can make a real difference to young learners?
GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a friendly primary school based in Eastbourne. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to balance work with other commitments while still making a meaningful impact in education.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you ll provide targeted support to pupils who may need a little extra help with their learning whether that s in small groups, one-to-one, or general classroom assistance. You ll be a positive, reliable presence and help to create a calm and inclusive learning environment.

The role is typically mornings only, Monday to Friday, but there may be some flexibility for the right person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with learning, emotional, or behavioural needs

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning activities

  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and participation

  • Help maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children in any setting (school, nursery, youth work, etc.)

  • Communicates clearly and works well with others

  • Is patient, positive, and dependable

  • Has or is willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the update service
