Part time Teaching Assistant

Location: Bexleyheath

Start date: 6th November until Christmas (maternity cover) with possibility of extending to July 2026

Contract: Part time (Thursdays and Fridays), Temporary

Salary: 90- 95 day rate

Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? Do you want to make a meaningful impact in the classroom? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a school in Bexleyheath on a maternity cover contract until Christmas, with the possibility of an extension through to July 2026.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning, both one-on-one and in small groups. Your role will be key in helping to create a positive and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons
  • Assisting with classroom management and pupil behaviour
  • Working with pupils who need additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Helping prepare learning materials and classroom resources
  • Encouraging and motivating students to achieve their potential
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or in a school setting (desirable but not essential)
  • Knowledge of or interest in behaviour management strategies
  • Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable but not essential)
  • A positive, patient, and caring attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability to work across different age groups and classroom settings
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training or willingness to complete it
