Job summary

Borough of Havant Sport and Leisure Trust is seeking a Swim Teacher to deliver Learn to Swim lessons across Havant and Waterlooville. The role is 4.5 hours per week, based at Waterlooville and Havant Leisure Centres.

You will work with the Aquatic Team to deliver high-quality sessions, maintain safety, and promote attendance throughout the year. Training and development opportunities are provided within a supportive leisure environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching within a Learn to Swim Programme.
• Qualified swimming teacher (ASA or STA) to Level 2.
• NPLQ or Teachers Pool Rescue/Pool Safety Qualified.
• Current Child Protection CPD or equivalent.
• Level 2 Parent and Baby qualification (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Deliver a varied programme of swimming lessons within the class framework.
• Promote and support the Swim School to ensure continued attendance.
• Prepare lesson plans in line with syllabus to provide high quality lessons.
• Check and set up equipment safely and tidily after the session.
• Register attendances and monitor class sizes and arrivals.
• Complete regular Progress Reports using electronic tablets for each swimmer.
• Provide regular individual feedback to swimmers.
