Mencap is hiring two Support Workers to help four adults with learning disabilities live independent, fulfilling lives in Nanpantan, Loughborough. You will assist with daily activities, personal care, meals and community outings, building meaningful relationships and encouraging choice.
We value a kind, patient, and positive approach. No extensive experience required; attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
We're looking for two passionate Support Workers to join our friendly team in Nanpantan, Loughborough, supporting four adults with learning disabilities to live happy, fulfilling and independent lives.
What could your day look like? One day you could be enjoying a boat trip, supporting someone at college or heading out swimming. The next, you might be getting creative at a craft session, visiting a garden centre, enjoying a singalong or helping someone prepare their favourite meal. You'll play an important part in making these experiences possible, whilst building meaningful relationships and supporting people to make their own choices.
Above all, someone with a kind, patient and positive approach who enjoys helping others achieve their goals. Previous experience is welcome but having the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn is just as important. A full manual driving licence would be an advantage, as you'll sometimes support people to get out and about. You'll also receive training relevant to the role, including medication and specialist care procedures.
At Mencap, it's never just a job. It's about making a real difference, celebrating individuality and helping people live life their way. If you want a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference every day, we'd love to hear from you!
