Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking a Speech and Language Assistant Practitioner to work part-time in our AHP service. You will support SLTs with swallowing and communication care, and contribute to therapy resources and staff training.

The role requires NVQ3 or equivalent, a health care Diploma, and strong IT skills. We offer a supportive hospital environment with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Health Care required.
• NVQ3 or equivalent acceptable.
• English and Maths – O level/GCSE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Work with patients under supervision of Speech and Language Therapists to implement swallowing/communication care programmes.
• Provide administration and clerical support for SLTs.
• Create and develop therapy tools and resources as requested.
• Support training of other healthcare staff under supervision of a qualified SLT.
