Job summary

Priory Hospital Glasgow is seeking a Specialty Doctor to join our medical team, working alongside Consultant Psychiatrists and a dedicated multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental healthcare to adult inpatients. This is a site-based role with clinical duties from 9am to 5pm.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification with GMC registration.
• Two years' psychiatry experience and understanding of managing significant mental health disorders.

Responsibilities

• Undertake medical clerking and contribute to comprehensive psychiatric assessments and physical health examinations for new admissions.
• Provide ongoing psychiatric reviews and medical care in collaboration with Consultant Psychiatrists and Resident Doctors.
• Prescribe and review psychiatric and physical health medications, ensuring safe prescribing and medicines reconciliation.
• Arrange and review physical health investigations, blood tests and monitoring, and respond to changing clinical needs.
• Participate in ward rounds, MDT reviews, CPA meetings and weekly clinical meetings.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning, clinical formulation and risk management.
• Liaise with GPs, hospitals, medical specialists and community teams to coordinate care.
• Provide clinical advice and maintain accurate records and safe medical cover arrangements.
