Job summary

TailorEDucation is seeking a Sociology Teacher for maternity cover at Medway on a 0.6 FTE contract, starting after October half term. You will teach Sociology to Year 10 and Year 12, delivering engaging and well-planned lessons that support pupils to develop knowledge, understanding and critical thinking skills.

The successful candidate will maintain a positive classroom environment, monitor pupil progress and contribute to the wider life of the department and school.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Experience teaching Sociology at secondary level.
• Experience teaching GCSE and/or A Level Sociology.

Responsibilities

• Teach Sociology to Year 10 and Year 12.
• Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons and monitor pupil progress.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom and support department goals.

Skills

QTS or equivalent

Secondary Sociology experience

GCSE and/or A Level Sociology

Strong subject knowledge
