We're an independent indoor growing and hydroponics shop in Croydon. A shop, two warehouse units and a busy online store, all run by a small team. We're looking for someone local to join us part-time across the shop and the warehouse.

You don't need to know anything about hydroponics. Or warehouses. We'll teach you. What we can't teach is turning up when you said you would, so that's what we care about most.

Hours

Minimum 14 guaranteed hours per week (two 7-hour days). Additional hours are regularly available but are not guaranteed. BUT, if you can't work more than 14 hours when needed, please don't apply.

That's two days a week to start, 10am to 6pm with an unpaid lunch break. Extra hours come up a lot, covering holidays, sickness and busy spells, and we need someone who's up for taking them when they're there, and aren't limited on hours because you'll lose benefits.

You'll also work some Saturdays on a rota.

The shop's open 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays. Closed Sundays.

What you'll be doing

• Picking and packing online orders
• Serving customers in the shop
• Learning our products so you can give customers proper advice
• Taking in deliveries and checking them off
• Putting stock away and keeping the shelves topped up
• Keeping the shop and both warehouse units tidy and organised
• Helping with stocktakes
• Whatever else needs doing to keep the place running

Some days are mostly shop. Some days you'll barely leave the warehouse. It's physical work too. Some of our stock is heavy, up to around 35kg, so you'll need to be comfortable lifting and moving it. We'll show you how to do it safely.

Who we're after

Someone reliable. We're a small team, so when one person doesn't show up everyone feels it.

Be good with customers and happy to muck in. If "that's not my job" is something you'd say, we probably won't get on. But if you can see what needs doing and just crack on with it, you'll fit right in.

Experience is a bonus, not a must. We'd rather have someone switched on and keen to learn than someone with years behind them and a bad attitude.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
