Milk education are looking for a part time SEN teacher to join a specialist provision in Kirkby dedicated to supporting pupils with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and other significant learning difficulties. We are a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil is respected, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

We are seeking a part-time qualified SEN Teacher to join our dedicated and compassionate team.

The Role:

As a part-time SEN Teacher, you will take responsibility for a small class of pupils with complex needs. You will plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of each pupil. A skilled Teaching Assistant (TA) will support you in the classroom, allowing for effective small-group and 1:1 support.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess personalised lessons tailored to pupils’ EHCPs

Lead a small class of pupils with complex SEN needs

Work closely with the classroom TA to provide targeted support

Create a nurturing, structured and stimulating classroom environment

Monitor and track progress, maintaining clear and thorough records

Work in collaboration with therapists, families, and other professionals

Uphold the school’s values of inclusion, dignity, and independence

About You:

We are looking for someone who is:

A fully qualified teacher with QTS

Experienced in teaching pupils with SEN, ideally in a special school setting

Confident in managing a range of complex learning and communication needs

Passionate about inclusive education and making a difference

Adaptable, creative and committed to personalised learning

Able to foster strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

Experience working with children with complex needs – essential

Knowledge of ASD, PMLD, and alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton) is desirable

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
