Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Thursday:

  • 06:30am to 08:00am: Unlock building, deactivate alarms, and cover reception.

  • 04:00pm to 07:00pm: Cover reception, lock the building, and activate alarms.

• Friday:

  • 06:30am to 08:00am: Unlock building, deactivate alarms, and cover reception.

  • 12:00pm to 07:00pm: Cover reception, lock the building, and activate alarms.

Your Role:

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you will provide security services by overseeing the safety of the building and personnel. Your duties will include both early morning and evening shifts, with additional responsibilities to ensure smooth operations across all aspects of building security.

Detailed Job Duties:

• Unlocking & Locking the Building:

  • Arrive promptly at 06:30am to unlock the building, deactivate alarms, and ensure all entry points are secure.
  • At the end of your shift, return to lock up the premises, activate alarms, and confirm all security protocols are followed.

• Cover Reception:

  • Manage the reception area during your shift by greeting and assisting visitors, contractors, and staff in a professional manner.
  • Ensure security procedures are adhered to by checking visitor IDs and logging all relevant details in the security register.
  • Answer any queries from staff or visitors, while maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.

• Security Checks:

  • Conduct routine patrols within and around the premises to ensure all areas are secure, especially during non-business hours.
  • Check for signs of unauthorized access or any security breaches at entrances, windows, and other vulnerable points.
  • Perform regular checks on the building’s security systems (CCTV, alarms, and locks) to ensure they are functioning correctly.

• Alarm Deactivation & Activation:

  • Safely deactivate the alarm system each morning upon entry and ensure proper reactivation in the evening, following company procedures.
  • Respond quickly to any false alarms or security breaches, taking the appropriate actions to resolve the situation.

• Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed during your shift, including maintaining clear and safe access points.
  • Immediately report any issues with building facilities that could present a health or safety risk.

• Patrol & Surveillance:

  • Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols throughout your shift, covering both indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Monitor CCTV feeds and respond to any suspicious activity or unusual behavior.
  • Report any incidents or security concerns promptly to senior staff or management.

• Incident Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of all activities during your shift, including any incidents, breaches, or notable observations.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported promptly using the correct procedures, and follow up with investigations if necessary.

• Professional Conduct:

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing the company and client with respect.
  • Provide assistance to staff and visitors as needed while remaining vigilant and adhering to security policies.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid SIA Licence (essential)

• Must have a 5-year checkable work history

• Must be a British national for a minimum of 5 years

• Must be willing and able to obtain SC clearance

• Excellent communication skills and customer service abilities
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible attitude towards working hours
• Experience in reception or security is a plus, but not essential
