Job summary

Ysgol Pencae is seeking an enthusiastic Estates Manager to maintain a safe, welcoming school environment. The role covers site maintenance, inspections, and security leadership, with a split-shift pattern and pro rata salary.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly organised, and committed to high standards across the school site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and providing reliable premises management for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estates Manager, Caretaker, or in a similar role maintaining school environments.
• Strong practical and maintenance abilities with attention to safety.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently and maintain safety records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections and weekly fire alarm testing.
• Perform routine health and safety checks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as on-site manager during working hours and lead key holder responsibilities.
• Coordinate with staff, contractors and external suppliers for site maintenance.
• Maintain records and documentation of inspections, tests and maintenance activities.
