Job summary

Whitegate Primary and Nursery School is seeking a conscientious School Cleaner to join our friendly team. The role involves general cleaning duties to provide a clean, hygienic and safe environment for our children.

You will undertake cleaning of school buildings, use appropriate equipment, and comply with health and safety standards. The position is part-time, with permanent status and an annual salary reflecting a Grade A point 3 for FTE £24,796, with an actual salary of £6,701 per year.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of different cleaning methods and equipment.
• Willingness to be trained to carry out cleaning duties using various equipment safely.
• Basic awareness of Health and Safety principles.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work on own initiative and seek help when required.

Responsibilities

• Clean school buildings using appropriate chemicals and equipment.
• Perform cleaning tasks: sweeping, vacuuming, floor polishing, dusting, mopping, sanitary maintenance.
• Comply with legislation, procedures and safe working practices.
• Report faults and hazards to Supervisor promptly.
• Support other cleaning staff as needed.
• Undertake training to maintain high cleaning standards.
• Work independently and assist customers as needed.
