Job summary

Vertas is seeking a dedicated School Chef to join our catering team at Endeavour Sherbrook Arnold, NG5 6AT. You will work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 2:00pm, for 39.2 weeks per year, preparing and serving nutritious school meals to high standards.

You will follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements, assist with stock control, minimise waste and work closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth catering operation in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a catering environment.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to organise workloads and work efficiently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in line with menu specifications.
• Support daily operation of the kitchen and maintain service standards.
• Work with colleagues to ensure an efficient catering service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
• Assist with stock control and minimise waste.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
