Part Time – Room Attendant (Teen Academy) – ZYJIA

Role Purpose: Are you ready to be a part of our Teen Academy?

The Teen Academy program is a summer work + internship program that began in 2016 at the IHG Army Hotel in Joint Force Base San Antonio. In 2017, other IHG Army Hotels adopted the program, expanding it across the portfolio.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

1. Provide teens with skills development and real experience working in a hotel.
2. Help develop a strong work ethic while offering a rewarding summer experience.
3. Promote strong family values by demonstrating IHG’s Winning Ways and a commitment to delivering True Hospitality, emphasizing a healthy lifestyle.
4. Build appreciation for hardworking parents and relatives who provide for the family.

The Teen Academy is designed as a 10-week program, with duration potentially varying based on local school schedules. The program takes place during the summer months when school is out. Participating teens may not work more than 40 hours per week, with core hours from 0800 to 1600.

Minimum Requirements:

• Age 14 to 16, compliant with federal and state labor laws.
• Willingness to learn various job duties including Houseperson, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Breakfast Attendant.
• Must have transportation and access to the post.
• Must have a family member working at the hotel; the sponsoring employee cannot have active Corrective Actions.
• Participation involves interviews with the GM, HM, OM, and HR Manager, and signing various agreements and forms, including a release of liability and certificates of age or work permits.
