Job summary

Wales Air Ambulance Charity is seeking a motivated Retail and Transport Operative to work 22 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a fixed-term 12-month contract at our Bridgend Charity Shop.

You will support the smooth running of the collection and delivery service, assist with donations, stock movements, vehicle checks, Gift Aid promotion, and basic till operations. The role requires a valid driving license and strong customer service skills.

• Basic IT skills for data entry (including smartphone).
• Able to undertake regular manual handling activities and lift/move goods.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently collect and deliver donated stock following policy and procedures.
• Ensure customers and donors are treated politely and courteously.
• Move stock around sites and assist with retail premises stocking.
• Process donations in line with procedures.
• Wear PPE and use lifting/handling equipment when required.
• Carry out leaflet drops to promote the charity and retail proposition.
• Ensure fleet vehicles are checked and maintained, reporting defects.
• Attend weekly transport briefings and shop support tasks as needed.
• Support stock auditing duties and assist with shop refits/refurbishment.
• Promote Gift Aid and follow Gift Aid processes to increase income from donations.
• Handle cash transactions and operate till system when required.
• Provide warehouse support and follow policies and procedures.
