Job summary

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm is seeking a friendly Retail Assistant to join our Farm Shop team on Sundays, with scope to flex additional days as needed. You will greet customers, handle tills, take orders, and help keep displays well stocked in a friendly, welcoming environment.

Experience in customer service is essential; barista/cash handling and knowledge of food hygiene are preferred. Applicants must be 18+ and have access to transport to our rural location.

Qualifications

• Customer Service Experience – Essential.
• Till trained and cash handling – Essential.
• Experience of working within a Visitor attraction/Retail/Hospitality sector preferred.
• Barista trained – Preferred.
• Good team player with a flexible, can-do attitude.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate – Preferred.
• Driving licence or own transport – Preferred (you must be able to get to this rural location).

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the shop displays are stocked and presentable to customers.
• Tidy and clean tables and customer areas in and around the Farm Shop.
• Communicate and work with Senior staff and our Chef's to manage daily supplies.
• Assist with seasonal produce and lifting as needed.
• Follow our Stock Control Policy.
• Could also be asked to work within our Farm Shop as needed.

Some of your responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

• Providing a warm welcome and friendly efficient service to all our customers.

• Serving hot and cold food to our customers.
• Ensuring the shop displays are always fully stocked and presentable to customers.
• Tidy and clean tables and customer areas in and around the Farm Shop.
• To communicate and work closely with Senior staff and our Chef's to ensure food and drink supplies are well managed throughout each day.
• Assist with seasonal produce, i.e., Pumpkins and Christmas Tree (a level of fitness is required for this role, i.e., lifting).
• Follow our Stock Control Policy.
• Could also be asked to work within our Farm Shop as and when needed.

Salary:

You will be paid the National Minimum Wage for your age.

However, for this role, applicants will need to be aged 18 years +
