Role Purpose:

To ensure quality assurance, develop standards, manage workflows, and lead by example in residential MEP projects.

Responsibilities:
  1. Own the QA gate. Review calculations, drawings, BIM files, and reports before they leave the office.
  2. Set & refine standards. Create checklists, templates, and playbooks for team use.
  3. Manage workflow. Coordinate multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
  4. Resolve technical issues. Address clashes, compliance issues, and performance shortfalls with solutions.
  5. Lead by example. Design small packages to demonstrate best practices.
  6. Mentor & challenge. Encourage rigorous review and justification of assumptions.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Chartered (or close) with 5+ years in mechanical and electrical building-services design.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of UK regulations (Part L, Part F, SAP, CIBSE Guides, BS 7671).
  • Experience with dynamic-simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible hours, responsive to project needs.
Preferred Extras:

Interest in residential design, heat-pump systems, PV/battery integration, scripting macros.
