Job summary

Torfaen County Borough Council in Pontypool is seeking a part-time Registration Officer – Registrars to join a busy registration team. You will register births, deaths, marriages, and civil partnerships, take notices, conduct ceremonies and perform related duties with accuracy and customer focus.

The successful candidate will have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) and excellent IT and customer service skills. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential; flexible applications in English or Welsh

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent qualification level of education or experience).
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to adapt to situations quickly in a calm, professional manner.
• Be computer literate with the ability to follow complex processes with a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Register Births, Deaths, Stillbirths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships, taking notices of Marriages and Civil Partnerships.
• Conduct Ceremonies and provide associated registration duties.
