Job summary

Medivet Lawley is looking for an excellent part time RVN to join their wonderful team. The role offers 22 hours per week across two 10 hour days, with 1 in 6 weekends at Medivet Shrewsbury 24-Hour Hospital and one bank holiday per year.

You will work with a friendly, supportive veterinary and nursing team, and have access to extensive on-site facilities and CPD opportunities within a driven practice. We provide an attractive benefits package including health cash plan, life assurance, 5 weeks’

Qualifications

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse with current registration.
• Experience delivering high quality patient and client care.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and support nurse consults.
• Coaching and influencing skills to maximise team performance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional care to clients and patients.
• Support surgeries and procedures with pre/post activity.
• Carry out nurse-led appointments and schedule activities.
• Monitor and care for patients and manage admissions/discharges.
• Complete transfers to out of hours or enhanced care and check medications.
• Maintain professional standards and brief the team to coordinate care.

Medivet Lawley is looking for an excellent part time RVN to join their wonderful team.

Medivet Lawley is a kind and caring team who are able to offer a full range of veterinary services and facilities, including nurse clinics and dental procedures, ECG, in-house laboratory, Orthopaedic Theatre, Ultrasound and X-ray. The practice is supported by our Operational Support Manager, Lead Vet and Head RVN along with an experienced Veterinary and Nursing team.

We are offering 22 hours per week (2 x 10 hour days) with 1 in 6 weekends at Medivet Shrewsbury 24-Hour Hospital, you will also cover one Bank holiday and one week of on call per year.

Role Accountabilities

• Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.


• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.


• Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.


• Deliver patient monitoring and care.


• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.


• Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.


• Dispense and check medication.


• Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.


• Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.


• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.


• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.


• Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.


• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
