Job summary

VanRath Search & Selection is seeking a part-time Household Recycling Centre Attendant in Newry, Northern Ireland. The post is 15 hours per week (Mon and Tue, 7am–3:30pm) on an initial 6-month contract with potential extension, within the Environmental Cleansing Service.

You will operate the centre, promote recycling, assist the public, handle cash receipts, manage vehicle flow, and keep the site clean. Applicants should have at least one year of waste-environment experience and knowledge of

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in a waste environment
• Working knowledge of health and safety procedures including manual handling
• Cash handling experience and ability to issue receipts
• Traffic management and keeping safe site operations
• Customer service experience dealing with the public

Responsibilities

• Operate the Household Recycling Centre and promote recycling to site users
• Cash handling and receipt issue with deposits where required
• Control traffic entering/leaving the site and assist with tipping directions
• Maintain cleanliness of the site and facilities
• Open and lock the site, ensuring alarms are activated as required
