Job summary

Elevate Recruitment Group is seeking a part-time Property Maintenance Assistant in Hoxton, London. The role covers general maintenance, minor repairs and upkeep of communal areas, with responsibilities including plumbing basics and decorating.

The successful candidate will work three days a week, possess hands-on maintenance skills, and communicate well with residents. On-site parking is available and there is potential for ongoing work beyond October.

Qualifications

• Experience in general property maintenance or handyman work.
• Practical knowledge of basic plumbing, repairs, decorating and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
• Proactive with good attention to detail.
• Friendly, approachable and professional.
• Good English communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to high standards.
• Own tools to undertake these responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness of the building and communal areas.
• Perform general maintenance tasks and minor repairs throughout the property.
• Replace light bulbs and repair door handles, locks, hinges and fixtures.
• Attend to minor plumbing issues, including blocked sinks, showers and small leaks.
• Carry out basic decorating and DIY touch-ups as needed.
• Keep walkways and shared spaces clean and presentable.
• Check communal facilities such as laundry rooms, gyms, study areas and resident lounges.
• Identify and report larger maintenance issues requiring specialist attention.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work and outstanding tasks.
• Communicate professionally with residents, site management and external contractors.
