Job description

Part-time Professors - Family Legal Services Provider Certificate Program

Fanshawe College is seeking experienced legal professionals to teach part-time in the Family Legal Services Provider (FLP) Certificate program within the School of Public Safety.

Reporting to the Associate Dean, School of Public Safety, part-time professors are responsible for delivering courses within the Family Legal Services Provider Certificate program and creating an effective learning environment for students.

Note: These are part-time, temporary faculty positions (up to 6 hours per week) starting September 2, 2025, and ending December 12, 2025.

General Qualifications:
  • Excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse learners
  • Strong technical and computer skills, familiarity with educational technologies
  • Experience with hybrid and/or online teaching preferred
  • Industry experience, prior college teaching, curriculum design, and student evaluation knowledge are assets
Specific Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary 4-year Law degree from a recognized university
  • Master’s degree in a related field and/or Bachelor of Education/Master of Education (assets)
  • Minimum 5 years recent family law practice experience in Ontario
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered
  • Law Society of Ontario License in good standing (must provide LSO number)
  • Understanding of challenges faced by diverse student groups (asset)
