Durham College seeks an experienced professional committed to quality and student success. The School of Science, Engineering and Information Technology requires a part-time professor to teach Building Information Modelling I: Drafting and Drawings.

This course introduces students to tools for creating models and documenting projects using Revit structure, covering techniques and standards for graphical communication, interpreting architectural and construction plans, and understanding symbols and specifications.

The course emphasizes Revit Structure Technology and Building Information Modelling (BIM), with extensive hands-on experience using Revit Structure 2017, covering topics like BIM advantages, interface, modeling tools, and structural elements.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PART-TIME FACULTY APPLICANTS

Recruitment is ongoing based on course schedules and faculty needs. Part-time teaching involves up to 6 hours per week, mainly Monday to Thursday (8:00 am - 9:00 pm) and Friday (8:00 am - 6:00 pm).

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications:

  • A relevant degree with industry credentials (Ph D. is an asset);
  • At least five years of recent relevant experience;
  • Post-secondary teaching experience with knowledge of Universal Design for Learning and assessment methods;
  • Experience in industry-led or community-based applied research is an asset;
  • Proficiency with current technologies supporting learning and grading;
  • A commitment to lifelong learning;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders;
  • Understanding of the Ontario college system.
