A primary provision in Weston-super-Mare working with Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teacher who’s highly committed to helping children, many of whom have faced significant challenges due to difficult home lives and are struggling in a mainstream setting. The school's goal is to show the children they’re capable of achieving more than they might believe is possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to build connections with students and want to personally impact their learning as the classroom is no bigger than 6. You will be supported by 2/3 TA’s in the classroom, creating a relaxed environment for you to be able to deliver your planned lessons with their support. The role is every Thursday, but opportunities for other days are available.

The ideal candidate

• A Fully Qualified Teacher with a DBS on the update service (or able to get one)
• Be enthusiastic and able to engage children in their learning. The aim is to get the children back into mainstream education to continue their learning there
• Be confident, proactive and understanding when working with children with challenging backgrounds
• Comfortable with challenging behaviour and possess de-escalation skills

Information about the role:

• Part-Time: Thursday, term time only 8:45 – 3:45
• Classroom size: 6 pupils, creating strong relationships with the students
• Start: The role begins after Easter until the end of the academic year (potential to be extended)
• Paid to scale and paid weekly through PAYE
• On-site car parking
