A GP practice in Watford seeks a part-time practice nurse to join their dedicated healthcare team. The role entails tasks such as wound care, cervical screening, and immunizations, aimed at providing exceptional patient care in a community-focused setting. The GP practice in South Oxhey is seeking a part time practicenurse to support our healthcare team for approximately 10-15 hours / week, afternoons preferred on Wednesdays and Fridays (Flexible working arrangements considered).
The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient careand support in a medical practice setting and be keen to make a positive impacton patient well-being and contribute to the delivery of quality healthcareservices.

Support the practice in achieving quality indicators andtargets of the GMS contract and any relevant National Service Frameworks.
Undertake opportunistic screening when clinically required.
Perform venepuncture and electrocardiography.
Undertake wound care/ management/dressing techniques.
Perform cervical screening and promote breast awareness.
Administer adult and paediatric injections under anindividualised prescription or Patient Group Direction, ensuring safe storage,rotation and disposal of vaccines and drugs.
Provide advice on lifestyle issues, assist and supportpatients in changing their unhealthy behaviours and refer appropriately.
Apply infection control measures when collecting andhandling of laboratory specimens, disposing of waste materials, dealing withblood and body fluids spillages and report and treat sharps injuries.
Undertake first aid and management of emergencies, e.g.,burns, haemorrhage, hypo/hyperglycaemic emergencies/asthma attacks.
Undertake annual training and demonstrates competency inanaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques.
Abide by the legal requirements and statutory rules relatingto practice and record and maintain periodic professional registration with RCN& NMC.
Recognise the signs of child abuse, family violence,vulnerable adults, substance abuse, addictive behaviours, suicidal tendenciesand be aware of local, referral procedures.
Promote your own continuing professional development.
Participate in an annual appraisal.
Completing all mandatory training modules as specified bythe Practice.Promote your own continuing professional development.
Alert other team members to issues of quality and risk
Effectively manage own time, workload, and resources.
