TPF Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded, professional yet friendly accountancy practice based near Paddock Wood, Kent. This firm supports a diverse client base, ranging from high-net-worth individuals to London-based businesses, delivering personalised, high-quality service within a supportive and flexible working environment.

The Role

We are seeking a confident and experienced Bookkeeper to join this growing team. This is a hybrid position, with a requirement of four days per week in the office during training, reducing to two to three days once fully settled. Due to the rural location of the office, driving is essential.

You will manage your own portfolio of clients while working closely with the wider team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a proactive mindset and a desire to improve processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using Xero
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Support with management accounts and monthly payroll using BrightPay
  • Client communication to resolve queries and offer support
  • Act as Finance Manager for selected clients, managing internal finance inboxes and liaising with third parties
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and enhance efficiency
Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • AAT Level 4 qualification or equivalent
  • At least 2 years' experience in a practice-based bookkeeping role
  • Strong knowledge of Xero, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • A solutions-focused, process-minded approach
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
  • A collaborative, clear communicator and team player
