Job summary

University of Exeter invites applications for a part-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow (0.6FTE) to join a UKRI funded project in social behaviour of wild banded mongooses. The role is based in the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy and runs from 1 December 2026 to 31 May 2027, with salary pro rata on Grade F.

The successful candidate will develop research objectives, lead data-driven analyses, and support database transition and new data collection tools.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a related field.
• nationally recognised authority in behavioural ecology, animal behaviour, or evolutionary biology.
• Ability to develop research programmes and methodologies and to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop research objectives, projects and proposals and identify funding sources.
• Oversee transition of project database to a new platform.
• Assist with development of a behavioural data collection application.
• Lead and supervise research activities and collaborate with team members.
