Job summary

University of Sussex invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Electromagnetic Engineering. The role focuses on design and computational work for graphene-based programmable holographic metasurface devices, with collaboration between 6G Lab and Graphene Centre.

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in engineering, physics or related fields, with expertise in electromagnetic theory, metasurfaces, graphene, and computational tools such as CST, COMSOL, HFSS and Python/MATLAB.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research experience in engineering, physics, electromagnetics, materials science or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory, metasurfaces, graphene or related areas.
• Experience in computational electromagnetic modelling and design using CST, COMSOL, HFSS or equivalent.
• Experience in analysis and design of resonant structures and electromagnetic fields.
• Scientific programming using Python, MATLAB or similar.
• Ability to interpret experimental data, validate and refine models, and work independently and collaboratively.
