Job summary

Payroll Elite Ltd in Essex is seeking an experienced Part-Time Payroll Manager to oversee payrolls for a portfolio of clients across sectors. You will manage and train a Payroll Assistant, ensuring payrolls are accurate, timely, and compliant with HMRC requirements.

The role involves handling auto-enrolment submissions, statutory payments, and year-end procedures, while collaborating with colleagues across the firm and supporting other departments as needed. Part-time 3-4 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years proven payroll processing experience.
• Proven experience as Payroll Manager.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE and payroll legislation.
• Experience managing multiple payrolls with strict deadlines.
• Attention to detail and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing weekly, four-weekly, monthly and annual payrolls.
• Managing, supporting and training a Payroll Assistant.
• Ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and within deadlines.
• Supporting auto-enrolment and re-enrolment obligations.
• Handling statutory payments, including sick pay and maternity pay, and holiday accrual.
• Managing attachments of earnings orders and other deductions.
• Responding to payroll queries and maintaining records.
• Implementing HMRC changes and PAYE account oversight.
• Year-end procedures including P60s and related tasks.
• Maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy.
