Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is working with a Preston-based accountancy practice to hire a Payroll Assistant for a part-time position (three days per week) with the possibility to extend to five days for candidates who can also help with accounts prep and VAT.

Salary ranges from £28,000 to £32,000 pro rata, with training and development support and a pension plan. The role offers exposure to payroll and broader accounts work in a growing practice.

Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll for multiple clients.
• Proficiency with payroll software and data protection.
• Part-time role with potential to increase days.
• Includes year-end payroll tasks and RTI submissions.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls.
• Prepare drafts of payslips, reports and payroll summaries.
• Support RTI submissions and pension administration.
• Liaise with HMRC and clients on payroll matters.
• Assist with accounts preparation and VAT when possible.
