Job description

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Pattern Cutter for 24 hours per week, to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years' experience working with digital patterns in a commercial environment. This role requires expertise in creating new patterns, adjusting existing patterns and grading, with a focus on tailored garments made in woven fabrics for menswear and ladieswear. This is an on-site role, with some flexibility regarding days and working hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the design team to meet critical path deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Develop new garment patterns, either adapting existing ones or creating original designs.
  • Attend fit sessions and accurately implement adjustments to patterns for production.
  • Work closely with sample machinists and manufacturers during the sampling process to achieve optimal results.
  • Assist in finalising technical information, including spec sheets, measurement charts, and lay plans.
  • Grading patterns as needed.
  • Ensuring the accurate communication of patterns and manufacturing specifications to factories, and maintaining organised records in keeping with company processes.
  • Upholding established company quality standards throughout the process.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven experience with both menswear and ladieswear patterns.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra);
  • Familiarity with PAD software is advantageous but not necessary.
  • Strong technical expertise in garment construction, particularly structured and tailored garments.
  • Ability to create first patterns from design illustrations, working with woven fabrics.
  • Competence in Adobe and Microsoft applications; ERP understanding is a plus.
  • Solid experience in pattern grading.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fabric types and their properties.
  • Experience working with international production factories.
  • Commercial awareness, in implementing cost-effective manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in workload management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with collaborating alongside garment technologists to ensure consistency in technical specification packs.
  • A self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Team-oriented person, comfortable engaging with colleagues collaboratively.
