Qualifications

Hours: 2-3 days per week / 14-21 hours per week flexible working arrangement

Salary: £35,000 Per Annum Pro Rata

This is an excellent opportunity for someone progressing through their professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) and looking to gain broad, hands-on experience in a busy practice environment.

Job Summary:

You will be involved in the preparation ofmanagement accounts, statutory financial statements, and tax returnsfor a diverse client base, ranging from sole traders and partnerships to limited companies across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparemonthly and quarterly management accountsfor clients, including journals, reconciliations, and commentary. Producestatutory accountsfor limited companies in accordance with FRS 102/105 and Companies House requirements. Prepare and submitcorporation tax returns (CT600s),VAT returns, andself-assessment tax returnsfor individuals and sole traders. Liaise directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and explain financial reports in plain language. Assist withbookkeepingand payroll tasks where necessary, ensuring client records are up to date and compliant. Support the senior team withaudit preparation(if applicable) and year-end accounts finalisation. Maintain compliance with HMRC and Companies House deadlines and regulations. Contribute to improving internal systems and processes within the practice.

Desirable:

Experience withcloud-based accounting platformsand digital record-keeping. Working knowledge ofFRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105. Exposure to personal tax or payroll services.
