We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Painter/Decorator in HMP Full Sutton, Moor Lane, Full Sutton, York YO41 1PS.

The standard hours of work are24hours per week. Staff are required to work between 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Wednesday.There may be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons.By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.

What you will do:

  • Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
  • Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
  • Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directive.
  • Guiding and supporting prisoners in Painting and Decorating as part of Amey's CRED programme.

What you will bring:

  • Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
  • Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Sharing best practice with others.
  • NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating, however we will consider applications if you have NVQ level 2.
  • Previous relevant work-related experience.
