Part Time or Trainee Teacher of History / Politics

Applications are invited for a part-time Teacher of History/Politics position. Ideally the successful candidate would start from September 2025 but January 2026 would be considered. Flexibility is possible for the right candidate. Candidates who wish to focus on History should be able to teach across KS3 and KS4. The ability to offer A level History would provide useful but is not essential. Alternatively, for candidates with a Politics specialism, the timetable put in place would offer a combination of A level Politics and some KS3/4 History.

If you have any further queries about the role, please raise them in the first instance with the Head of History, Mr Tim Taylor (tdt@yarmschool.org ).

We would also welcome applications from well-qualified, committed graduates who would like to train as a History teacher. Yarm School supports teacher training in conjunction with the University of Buckingham. Trainees work towards both a PGCE and QTS which qualifies them to work in any maintained or independent school. If you wish to discuss this opportunity further please contact the Deputy Head Academic, Mr Darren Morton, for further information (dkm@yarmschool.org ).

Applications should be e-mailed to the Headmaster, Dr Huw Williams, as soon as possible and no later than midday on Monday 23rd June. The school reserves the right to interview before the closing date if appropriate to the context of the field. Early applications are therefore strongly encouraged. Applications should be submitted to: head@yarmschool.org
