Join Victoria Gardens as a Part Time Occupational Therapist Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term basis and change the lives of Service Users with complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge.

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assisting in the planning for individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourage participation in activities and empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will be:

• Assisting Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual care plans.
• Supporting service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
• Maintaining adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
• Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
• Verbal and written communication skills

Where you will be working:

You will be working at Victoria Gardens, a specialist rehabilitation service for Service Users with complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge. You will support the service in equipping service users with the skills required for community living and increased independence.

The service is recovery-based and incorporates elements of the Good Lives Model, supported by individualised interventions. We have a full multidisciplinary team (MDT) with Nursing, a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, and Social Worker support.
