Job summary

Just Imagine Day Nursery - Colchester, part of the Family First Group, is seeking a reliable Nursery Housekeeper to maintain the highest cleanliness standards. The role is a part-time evening position (6:00pm–8:00pm, 10 hours per week) supporting a safe and welcoming environment for children and staff.

You will work closely with the nursery team, using safe cleaning practices and COSHH-aware procedures, with benefits including a 75% childcare discount and wellbeing programme.

Qualifications

• Essential: reliable and punctual, able to work independently, good attention to detail, pride in cleanliness, positive approach.
• Desirable: previous cleaning or housekeeping experience, COSHH knowledge, nursery/school/healthcare environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and communal areas.
• Sweep, mop, dust, sanitize surfaces and empty bins.
• Disinfect children's bathrooms and high-touch areas; manage nursery linen laundry.
• Assist with washing up and kitchen cleanliness; report stock needs.
• Follow Health & Safety, COSHH, infection control and safeguarding procedures.
