Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to develop and lead neonatal OT input, championing family-integrated care and developmental outcomes within a busy Neonatal Unit. You will assess, intervene, educate and support babies and families throughout their neonatal journey.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy is required.
• HCPC registration is essential.
• Postgraduate education or training in relevant areas is desirable.
• Experience as a paediatric or neonatal OT is preferred.
• Specialist neonatal knowledge and skills are required.
• Experience with Family Integrated Care is advantageous.
• Ability to contribute to audits and service improvements.

Responsibilities

• Providing advanced assessment and treatment for neonates with complex developmental needs.
• Leading on developmental and family-integrated care within the neonatal service.
• Educating and empowering parents and carers to participate in baby care.
• Delivering specialist training to the wider neonatal workforce.
• Contributing to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance.
• Collaborating across the multidisciplinary team and neonatal network to improve outcomes.

Education

Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy

HCPC registration

Postgraduate education or training

Paediatric or neonatal OT experience

Specialist neonatal knowledge and skills

Family Integrated Care knowledge

Audit and service improvement experience

Change management experience

Master's level study

Specialist neonatal training (Brazelton, Bayley, Prechtl)

Membership of a relevant special interest group

Research involvement and presentation experience
