Job description

Part-Time Nanny – Wimbledon

Position: Part-Time Live-Out Nanny
Location: Wimbledon, London
Salary: £22- £25 gross per hour, negotiable for the right candidate
Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Children: Two boys, aged 2 years and approximately 9 weeks

Overview

A warm family based in Wimbledon is seeking a highly experienced, nurturing, and professional part-time nanny to care primarily for their newborn baby.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nanny with extensive infant-care experience who is looking for a consistent, long-term position. The role will focus on the baby's daily care, feeding, sleep routines and development, with the potential to provide additional support with the older child as the position evolves.

The family employs a housekeeper, so there are no significant housekeeping responsibilities.

Working Hours

The family would ideally like to offer approximately 25 hours per week throughout the year, with the following preferred schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 7:00 am – 9:00 am, with flexibility around days and timings.
  • Extra Babysitting

The family is open to discussing alternative arrangements and would also consider a candidate who is available for afternoon and evening hours only.

The routine remains broadly consistent throughout the year, as the older child attends a day nursery rather than a school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care for the baby.
  • Managing bottle feeds, naps, and age-appropriate sleep routines.
  • Establishing and maintaining a calm, consistent bedtime routine.
  • Supporting the baby's early development through age-appropriate activities and interaction.
  • Ensuring the baby's safety, comfort, and wellbeing always.
  • Keeping the baby's areas tidy and organized, including light tidying related to the baby's care.
  • Working collaboratively with the parents to maintain consistency in the children's routines.
  • Potentially providing additional support with the older child as the role develops.
Ideal Candidate

The family is looking for someone who:

  • Has extensive professional experience caring for young infants.
  • Is confident with bottle feeding, naps, and evening bedtime routines.
  • Is calm, patient, nurturing and highly attentive to a baby's needs.
  • Can work independently while communicating effectively with the parents.
  • Is professional, reliable, and interested in a medium- to long-term commitment.
Additional Information
  • Live-out position.
  • No pets.
  • A parent will generally be at home caring for the older child.
  • A housekeeper is employed, so only light, child-related tidying is required.
  • Salary and working hours are negotiable for the right candidate.
