Job summary

Huddersfield Road Surgery is seeking a Medical Summariser to join our team for 20 hours per week. Experience with EMIS and a track record in summarising medical records is essential. The role requires the ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.

Key duties include reviewing patient records, producing accurate summaries with correct read codes, and managing document flow from receipt to coding. Training and collaboration with clinical staff are expected.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and produce accurate summaries.
• Identify items to be summarised following practice protocol.
• Input items chronologically into EMIS.
• Input written summaries into the database.
• Work with Practice Administrator, Data Administrator and GPs.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Process incoming letters and documents (electronic and paper).
• Provide admin support to team and ensure correct coding.
