Job summary

Wallscourt Farm Academy is seeking a Lunchtime Playworker to provide a safe, engaging environment for children during lunch breaks. You will run structured play activities and supervise children, helping with their physical, social and emotional development.

The ideal candidate shows a passion for working with young children, strong leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively with families. This fixed-term post supports our nursery team during a maternity cover period.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the varied needs of children and families
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathy and active listening
• Calmly manage inappropriate behaviour following academy guidance
• Patient, calm and able to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities and routines to create a safe, stimulating play space.
• Encourage children’s participation in play and learning activities.
• Supervise playtime and ensure safety and wellbeing at all times.
• Plan and implement engaging activities promoting physical, social, and emotional development.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the play area and safe equipment.
• Collaborate with staff to support nursery objectives.
