Job summary

The Old Station Nursery is seeking a Lunch Cover Nursery Practitioner for Kingsteignton, Devon. Part-time, 15 hours per week, Monday–Friday 11:00–14:00, starting pay £12.71–£13.24 per hour based on experience.

No formal qualifications are required; childcare experience is beneficial. The role includes contributing to a warm, safe nursery environment and supporting daily operations within an Ofsted-rated setting.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe and thrive.
• Plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Monitor and celebrate children's development milestones, keeping records for parents.
• Support the day-to-day running of the nursery, upholding hygiene, safety and care standards.
• Be a team player, guiding apprentices and volunteers while learning from others.
