Job description

A lovely afternoon Nanny/Housekeeper role has become available in Radlett, Hertfordshire.

Starting as soon as possible, you will be caring for one little girl, aged five years. You will be working alongside her Dad, who has recently been widowed, so he is looking for a Nanny/Housekeeper who has great empathy, is kind, caring, energetic and fun and who will fit into their daily lives.

The little girl can be shy to begin with, but once she is comfortable, she is a happy and active child. She enjoys being creative with arts and crafts (lots of glitter!), baking and role play. She also likes trips to the park and other adventures.

Although Dad will be working from home sometimes, this will be a sole charge role.

The hours of the role will be 13.00-19.00, Monday to Friday (30 hours/week). There could be additional ad hoc hours in the school holidays and occasional evening babysitting, which would be mutually agreed and paid as overtime.

During term time, you will collect the little girl from school and take her to any after school clubs. You will help oversee any homework, reading and spellings required.

In the school holidays, where the timing of the daily hours will be a little flexible, Dad would like her to have fun going on outings and play dates to allow her to socialise with other children, always ensuring her happiness and safety.

Before you collect the little girl from school each day, there will be some time to help keep the home organised. They employ a weekly cleaner, so this role will involve keeping the house running smoothly in between cleans – emptying the dishwasher, ensuring all rooms are tidy at the end of the day, etc.

In addition to general care of the little girl, the duties are to include keeping her areas clean and tidy (kitchen, bedroom, playroom, etc.), keeping on top of the family laundry and providing healthy and nutritious family meals each day. You will make sure she has everything she needs for school the following day (packed lunch, sports kit, etc). You will also help with bath time at the end of the day, before handing her back to Dad for bedtime.

You must be a careful and confident driver with a clean licence and your own fully insured car. Duty mileage will be paid.

This is a wonderful role, where you will be able to help this fabulous family at this sensitive time.
