Overview

A friendly family of four in Harpenden, Hertfordshire is looking for an experienced, reliable housekeeper to help keep their home running smoothly, while also supporting with after-school care for their two young children (a four-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother). Both children attend school and nursery during the day. The family live in a modern new-build home, ideally located close to Harpenden town. They would like someone who can balance general housekeeping with school and nursery pick-ups, followed by caring for the children until their parents return from work.

Working hours

Monday to Friday, 14:30 – 18:30 (20 hours/week). Collect children at around 18:00, then provide a light snack and occupy them until their parents arrive home.

Responsibilities

• General tidying and organising around the home
• Cleaning all rooms to a high standard
• Family laundry (clothes and bedding) and ironing
• Changing beds regularly
• Putting away household shopping
• Running errands (e.g., dry cleaning, post office)
• Preparing simple batch meals for the children

Transport and driving

A fully insured car is essential for pick-ups and errands (duty mileage will be reimbursed).

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum experience level: Two years
• Enhanced DBS (update) and 12 hour Paediatric First Aid
• Experience essential; no formal qualifications required
