Job description

Undertaking legal advice and support to clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions (both for access to property and related to anti-social behaviour), traveller encampments, and regulatory prosecutions. This involves conducting legal proceedings and representing the Council in court.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Providing advice and assistance to clients on education matters, particularly challenges to decisions regarding SEND and EHC assessments.
2. Supporting junior colleagues and legal assistants within the department.
3. The role may also suit a junior officer seeking to develop knowledge and skills in the above areas, including providing assistance to senior officers and working closely with them.
4. Potential development opportunities in Court of Protection work related to adults' social care.
