Job Purpose
To be a member of a team of Leisure Assistants, ensuring the smooth day to day operation of Strathearn Community Campus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the desired image of Strathearn Community Campus through a welcoming, friendly approach to all customers
- To be a member of a team trained in accident prevention, aquatic rescue and first aid
- To ensure the safety of customers through encouraging safe recreation and activity
- To carry out rescues and to administer remedial treatment as may be defined in the Normal Operating Procedure and Emergency Action Plan
- To maintain a high standard of cleanliness both within and outside the pool at all times
- To assist with the setting out and clearing away of equipment and furniture
- You may be required to teach/coach classes as required as is appropriate to your relevant qualifications
Health and Safety
- To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all supplementary legislation
- To liaise with Live Active Leisure maintenance team and other agencies to ensure that the Centre provides a safe, quality environment at all times
- To ensure that any defect or damage to the building or items of equipment is reported to management and, where competent, carry out minor repairs and other routine maintenance tasks
Training
- To attend regular staff training sessions, be they held in-house or externally
- To maintain the standard required for the current RLSS Pool Lifeguard Award
General
- To ensure you are physically fit to carry out your duties at all times
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines
- To carry out other reasonable duties as may be required
