Our client is looking for a Part Time Legal Secretary

Client Details

A leading law firm

Description

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to conveyancing solicitors.

  • Prepare, format, and process legal documents and correspondence (e.g. missives, dispositions, standard securities).

  • Handle audio and copy typing of legal documents with accuracy and speed.

  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications including telephone calls, emails, and letters.

  • Maintain and update client files in accordance with Law Society of Scotland guidelines.

  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and Registers of Scotland.

  • Carry out title and property searches, order reports, and assist with drafting and revising documents.

  • Manage solicitor diaries, schedule appointments, and coordinate key dates in transactions.

  • Process payments, deal with client accounts, and assist with completion and settlement procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with AML (anti-money laundering) regulations and data protection requirements.

  • Perform general office tasks including filing, photocopying, and mail handling.

Profile

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary in a conveyancing department (preferably in Scotland).

  • Good understanding of Scottish conveyancing processes and terminology.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems

  • Strong typing skills (audio and digital dictation).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
